Spatial Planning

I am a chartered town planner and worked as a spatial policy officer for Durham County Council from 2007 to 2015, with a particular interest in green infrastructure and open space, sustainability, applied research and GIS.

During this time, I led on a number of significant research projects leading to planning policies. These included: the Settlement Study – an assessment of the facilities and services of all of the towns and villages of the County; the Green Belt Study – a comparative assessment of major development sites; and the Open Space Needs Assessment, including qualitative and quantitative assessment of the open space resource of the County.

I am currently representing local residents objecting to a number of planning proposals in Northumberland.
